Eirini Papadaki studied Journalism and Mass Media Communication at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. She continued her studies at the University of Kent at Canterbury, UK, where she received her doctorate in Communication and Image Studies in 2002. Her doctorate thesis was entitled "The Mediation of Art through the Mass Media".
Since 2002 she worked at the Chamber of Fine Arts of Greece. Between 2004 and 2007 she was the scientific project manager for such projects as the digitization of artworks created by Greek visual artists, the creation of a database for Greek visual artists and the creation of an internet portal for their incorporation and communication.
Her teaching experience include teaching at the University of Kent at Canterbury, UK, (School of Drama, Film and Visual Arts), the University of Ioannina (Department of Plastic Arts and Art Sciences), the University of the Aegean (Department of Pre-School Education and Educational Design), the University of Peloponnese (Department of History, Archaeology and Cultural Resources Management), as well as the Technological Educational Institute of Epirus (Department of Traditional Music and Department of Business Administration).
Her research interests focus on the mediation of art and culture, the communication of cultural goods with their spectators/auditors, the semiotics of the image, cultural and tourist administration and communication, as well as the "virtual" and the new dimensions of communication in the era of technoculture.
