Learning  Outcomes

      Knowledge concerning the curriculum and particular subjects of Greek music educational pedagogy, especially when it comes to traditional music. 

The understanding of the philosophy and the goals of music regimes’ programs in the educational field. 

Application of educational music regimes’ programs in different frameworks giving emphasis on Music Schools.  Utilization of percussion instruments in music pedagogy. 

Analysis of contemporary researches and waves in Music Pedagogy. 

Composition of the Textbooks material. 

Evaluation of the teaching approaches, especially those concerning Traditional music.

Teaching Approach

Interactive presentation – lecture by using supervisory tools. Experiential approaches.

Course Content

General learning theories and a pre-school’s, school's and adolescences' child’s development and particular theories on music learning. Music development, music perception and music learning of a child. Philosophy and goals of music regimes programs in pre-school, primary and junior education. Detailed and daily music programs of the steps mentioned above. Repertoire, curriculum and specific of music education on Greek Traditional Music. Reference to the multicultural and transcultural music education, in teaching various kinds of music and music cultures at school, matters of transition and music learning in different civilizations. Collection and listing of textbook material. Evaluation of the teaching process. 

a. Practicing of the students on the composition of daily music teaching schedules for pre-school, primary and junior high education. Presentation of representative music subjects from students in class. Visits, monitoring and fieldwork teaching by students in various grades in education (Pre-School, Primary School, Junior High School). b. Study of contemporary researches and waves in music education on the fields of psychology, sociology, detailed programming and aesthetics of music in education. 

Introduction to the percussion instruments. Group rhythm exercises. Percussion  ensembles.
